« Enhanced scientific knowledge of plant ingredients and probiotics, optimized for postbiotic synthesis »

Intestinal hyperpermeability affects a large proportion of the population, and can lead to digestive disorders (diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, etc.) with a negative impact on quality of life.

With this in mind, Ortis Laboratories and Lactoresearch, in partnership with the Universities of Liège and Louvain, have decided to collaborate in order to strengthen scientific knowledge of plant and probiotic ingredients, optimized for postbiotic synthesis, for their ability to support the intestinal barrier.

The strengthened gastrointestinal ranges of the two industrial partners resulting from this project will enable them to consolidate their position in the dietary supplement market targeting intestinal permeability in Europe, and to promote the marketing of innovative formulations on the international market.

In addition to generating growth levers and creating and securing jobs in Wallonia, this project will also contribute to the international reputation of Wallonia’s universities, through the valorization of project results in the form of publications and patents.
